Selected Japanese A5 Grade Wagyu Ribeye, its greatest appeal lies in the fine marbling distributed between the muscle fibres, which gradually melts upon heating, releasing a rich Wagyu butterfat aroma, abundant juices, and a delicate, silky texture. Whether pan-seared, teppanyaki, Japanese yakiniku, or sukiyaki, it fully showcases the unique flavour of Japanese A5 Wagyu.
For truly high-grade Japanese Wagyu, what is most impressive is not simply that it is "fatty", but that the fat is distributed within the muscle in a very fine form.
This intramuscular fat is what is commonly known as Marbling.
When the beef is heated, the fine fat gradually melts, ensuring every bite delivers:
So Japanese A5 Wagyu does not require complex marinating. Often, just sea salt, black pepper, or a small amount of Wasabi is enough to enjoy the most exquisite part of the beef itself.
Japanese beef grades are typically composed of two parts:
Therefore A5 represents an A-grade yield combined with the highest 5-grade quality rating.
Please note: A5 does not equal a fixed BMS number. If the product has a separate BMS score, the actual product label or certification documents should prevail.
Ribeye is a cut that is naturally rich in fat distribution, with outstanding juiciness and beef flavour.
When Ribeye is combined with the highly refined Marbling of A5 Wagyu, the overall result presents a very distinct Japanese Wagyu style:
When sliced, you can see abundant fine white fat marbling, forming a snowflake-like pattern between the red muscle.
This is also one of the most distinctive visual characteristics of premium Japanese Wagyu.
Because A5 Wagyu has a very high fat ratio and rich fat aroma, if you eat a large, thick-cut steak like a typical American Ribeye, some customers may find it too rich.
Often, smaller portions, thinner cuts, and slow savoring allow you to better enjoy the true charm of A5 Wagyu.
One of the representatives of premium Japanese beef, renowned for its fine marbling and unique fat aroma.
A-grade yield score combined with the highest 5-point meat quality rating.
Fine fat is distributed between the muscles, forming a beautiful marbled texture.
As it heats, the fat gradually melts, delivering a rich and delicate aroma.
A classic premium steak cut, balancing meaty flavour, marbling and tenderness.
No long cooking time is needed; simply sear at high heat to enjoy the fat and meaty flavour.
Suitable for yakiniku, sukiyaki, teppanyaki and Wagyu steak.
Ideal for holidays, dinner parties and special occasions to savour slowly.
To truly appreciate the natural flavour of A5 Wagyu, simple pan-frying is the most recommended method.
Cut the beef into medium-sized pieces. Preheat a frying pan or teppan over high heat; no need to add a large amount of cooking oil.
Because Wagyu is very rich in fat, it naturally releases its own oils when heated.
Sea salt + Black pepper + Wasabi
is all you need.
Slice the Ribeye thinly to yakiniku thickness and sear both sides quickly over high heat.
A5 Wagyu does not need to be cooked for long; just until the marbling has just melted and a slight char forms on the surface.
Recommended pairings:
Sea salt · Wasabi · Sliced garlic · Yakiniku sauce · Yuzu kosho
Once thinly sliced, A5 Ribeye is perfect for Sukiyaki.
The aroma of Wagyu fat paired with a Japanese sweet-savory sauce, then dipped in egg, is one of the most classic ways to enjoy Japanese Wagyu.
Quickly sear the beef until fragrant, then slice it and place it over hot rice.
Served with:
Onsen egg · Sliced garlic · Chopped spring onion · Wasabi · A small amount of Japanese sauce
This creates a highly premium Wagyu Beef Bowl.
If you prefer steak, you can also sear it thick-cut, but it is recommended not to use too large a portion.
A5 Wagyu has a much richer aroma than ordinary steak, so eating it slowly in small portions allows you to enjoy every bite.
Slice the beef thinly, sear the surface quickly, serve with a small bite of sushi rice and Wasabi, to create a Japanese-style seared Wagyu dish.
*For food safety, beef should be handled according to appropriate methods and the internal temperature fully controlled.
Slice the Wagyu into very thin slices, and blanch quickly in kelp broth.
You do not need a rich broth, as this allows the natural aroma of A5 Wagyu to be appreciated even more.
The charm of Japanese A5 Wagyu mainly comes from its fine marbling.
If cooked at high temperature for a long time, a large amount of fat will be lost, and the texture that makes this beef worth enjoying will also be lost. It is recommended to cook using short time, high heat, small portions.
A5 Wagyu is different from ordinary lean steak, with higher fat content and flavour.
So at a Dinner Party, you do not necessarily need to prepare a large piece for each person.
It can be used as:
✔ Premium Sharing Dish
✔ A main course among several dishes
✔ Yakiniku Platter
✔ Steak Tasting
✔ The star of Sukiyaki
Enjoying it slowly in small portions usually highlights its value better than eating a large amount of A5 Wagyu at once.
To best preserve the texture and fat condition, we recommend using slow thawing in the refrigerator.
We do not recommend thawing with hot water or leaving at room temperature for a long time, to avoid affecting the condition of the beef surface and fat.
The oxygen level inside the vacuum packaging is lower, so the beef may appear a darker red inside the bag.
After opening and exposure to air, the meat colour will usually change gradually.
Japanese high-marbling Wagyu, due to large amounts of fat interspersed within the muscle, may appear whiter overall even in a frozen state compared to when fully thawed.
No.
